AFTER CARE:
- Take off dressing/bandage after 30 minutes - an hour AT MOST. Basically, as soon as you get somewhere that you can wash your new tattoo. (Preferably somewhere clean like your house; restaurants and the like really are not ideal.) AFTER YOU TAKE OFF THE BANDAGE YOU WILL NEVER NEED TO APPLY ANOTHER ONE.

- Using anti-bacterial soap (such as DIAL gold brand or equivalent) & cool water make a lather and wash your tattoo. Use ONLY your CLEAN hands to wash it. You want to remove the blood and clear looking crust called "plasma". DO NOT USE ANYTHING ABRASIVE LIKE A FACE CLOTH, LOOFA, ETC.

- Rinse off soap thoroughly with cool water.

- Dab dry your tattoo with a clean paper towel. NEVER WIPE YOUR TATTOO.

- Apply a small amount of Lubriderm ( or other fragrence free ) lotion to the tattoo. Use your fingers and massage the ointment or lotion in.Although it may look like there's nothing on your tattoo, the tattoo will absorb what it needs for healing purposes.

** DO NOT USE Vaseline or Neosporin.
** Lubriderm, Ucerin, Curel, all are fragrance lotions which we recommend.

-Do this 3-4 times a day every 4 hours or so for the first 2-3 days ONLY.

-Your tattoo will peel and flake after a few days. Do not pick at it. It will also itch, do not scratch it.

* Always make sure your hands are clean when you touch your new tattoo.
* NO swimming (pools, lakes, river, hot tubs, etc.). Don't soak/submerge your tattoo in water for 4 weeks. Showers are fine.
* NO tanning for 4 weeks. Tanning will also fade your tattoo after it is healed so if it must be in the sun apply some high SPF sun block.
* Use only clean paper towels to dab dry during the cleaning process.
* Clean your tattoo before you get out of the shower just incase any shampoo or smelly bath stuff got into it.
* Use common sense to protect you tattoo -If you have work / or will be in an environment where it will be dusty or you think your tattoo can get dirty, wear loose clothing to cover it. If you got a tattoo on your wrist, you probably shouldn't pet the dog. If you think your tattoo has gotten dirty, just give it a wash.

I think that's about it. I know it may seem like a lot to take in, but it's pretty simple. An artist can do an awesome job on a tattoo, but if the client doesn't take care of their tattoo, that is not the artists' fault - getting my point? Any other questions call the shop or drop me an e-mail. Thanks and take care - MOT
